Around 30% of our client base consists of parents and guardians signing up on behalf of a young person. We encourage the young person to undertake the dog training themselves with the supervision of their parent or guardian.
We work with young people to give them independence, teach them a new skill and to empower them in all aspects of their lives and training their own assistance dog. Having an assistance dog can give hope, freedom and autonomy to a young person. It can be life changing for the young person.
RAD Assistance Dogs currently have around 10 dogs going into a school setting with a young handler. We work extensively with the young person, their family and the school to make sure that this is suitable for all involved.
